Learning and Teaching Excellence Center
The Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (LTEC) at SUNY Potsdam
is located in Crumb Library room 107. The LTEC was established to provide:

A welcoming, comfortable environment for meeting and working in the pursuit of excellence in learning and teaching;

A forum for collaboration, debate, and exchange of ideas;
-
A retreat conducive to reflection, experimentation, and creative innovation; and
-
A source of energy, resources, coordination and encouragement for initiatives that support the college’s teaching mission.
"A teacher can provide an explanation, but cannot furnish understanding. Understanding comes as a result of the student's struggle with the subject matter. It is the teacher's job to explain,but even more important, to plan the opportunities for students to interact with the subject matter in ways that will lead to learning. This is the real challenge of teaching."
