Submission Process, Review and Awarding of Funds

Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the Bicentennial Organizing Committee, which includes representatives from all three Schools, other campus stakeholders, and alumni. In the first round of consideration, in July 2014, the Committee will select proposals which best meet the goals of the celebration, and develop a proposed final Bicentennial calendar based on these proposals. This calendar will be presented to the President’s Council as part of the final request for funding for the Bicentennial. Additional rounds of proposals will be solicited in order to capture the enthusiasm for the event that will build as publicity begins in earnest, and successful proposals from subsequent rounds will be supported by the Bicentennial Organizing Committee as funding allows.

Funding Parameters

The Bicentennial Organizing Committee will consider proposals based on their merits and how they fulfill the overall mission of the Bicentennial Celebrations, and will solicit funding from the College to meet a requested budget based upon the approved proposals. Therefore, the overall “fit” of the proposals into the goals of the celebration will be the primary determinant of funding.
