Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at SUNY Potsdam offers a rigorous and well-balanced curriculum that provides a solid foundation for successful graduate study, and/or a career in chemistry or a chemistry related field. 

Students will have an opportunity to learn in an environment characterized by small class sizes and personalized attention. Their educational experience can be enhanced by participation in a collaborative student-faculty research project. These projects not only give students valuable research experience, but allow them to focus on solving a real-world problem using state-of-the-art equipment. 

The faculty, who have been recognized with a number of teaching and research awards, have expertise in analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, as well as biochemistry.
