Sociology majors pursue a variety of career paths including social research, human resources, education, public employment and human services.
Many of our sociology majors are pursuing careers in the human services area, such as public assistance specialist, health care administrator, mental health counselor, human resources consultant and home care coordinator, to name a few.
Sociology majors with certification in education typically pursue teaching careers within elementary and secondary schools. Sociology graduates currently enjoy such careers as superintendent of schools, elementary and high school principals, literacy coordinator, director of preschool and extended care, school psychologist, director of continuing education and school district guidance director.
