Registration of Non-matriculated & Guest Students

A person taking courses at SUNY Potsdam who has not been admitted to the college as either an undergraduate or graduate student is considered a non-matriculated or guest student.


Web Registration Information for Non-matriculated/Guest Students

  • Registration begins Thursday, April 4 at 8 a.m. in the Office of Extended Education
  • Returning non-matriculated undergraduate students complete the Non-Matriculated Student Application Form
  • Return it to the Office of Extended Educ29ation, Raymond Hall 206 or fax it to (315) 267-3088
  • New non-matriculated undergraduate students required documents:

    • Non-matriculated Student Application
    • Official transcripts from your current college
    • Send documents to:

Note: If official transcripts are not received by the start of classes, the students will be dropped from the course(s).

Maximum Registration Hours

 
Sessions 1 and 2 (6 weeks)
7 credit hours
Session 1A, 1B, 2C, 2D (3 weeks)
4 credit hours
Courses in overlapping sessions

Holds on Student Records

  • Check your record on BearPAWS for "Holds"
  • Holds will stop you from registering for classes
  • To remove the hold contact the department listed


Advising

Advising is available for non-matriculated students. If you would like  advising assistance before determining which classes to take, please  contact the Academic Advising Office, Sisson Hall 128, (315) 267-2580.


Courses Needing Special Permission 

If you need the instructor's permission to register for a course:      

  •   Obtain the permission slip from the instructor
  •   Take it to the department secretary or other designated person in the department to enter the codes so you can web register
