Successfully coordinating these important areas requires specialized management skills related to the human side of business.

The M.S. Organizational Performance and Technology program is intended to prepare students for careers in human performance improvement, training, and development, with an emphasis on the use of technologies to solve performance problems. The program is targeted for individuals seeking careers in leadership or management positions across a variety of organizations such as higher education, social service agencies, and the military. Coursework offers the knowledge and understanding needed to strategically navigate the complexity of organizational systems. Alumni have gone on to work as human performance coordinators, employment counselors, multiple positions in higher education, public relations, client care analysts, project managers, and more.

What You Will Learn:

  • A strong base of knowledge in the areas of organizational development, leadership, evaluation and assessment, and technology.
  • Valuable management skills and knowledge of human behavior that can be implemented to provide strong, effective leadership in the workplace.
  • The foundation to help an institution or business utilize technology to achieve their goals, including an understanding of performance analysis, information support, knowledge management, appraisal, and other important themes and interventions.
  • Program evaluation and assessment skills for navigating the complexity of organizational systems.
  • Tools to develop leadership with yourself and others, including coaching and mentoring strategies.
  • A highly-valued, versatile skillset that will qualify you for a range of leadership and management positions in multiple contexts and industries.
