Attendance
- Students must provide their own transportation to and from the placement; not only is this an expectation, it is a requirement for participating in the pre-student teaching experience
- Be on time! If you are going to be late or absent you must telephone and speak with your mentor teacher prior to the beginning of the school day; do not leave a voice message
- You are expected to arrive prepared to participate 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each scheduled observation
- Any missed time must be made up within two weeks
Professionalism
- Students are not to initiate any contact with school personnel regarding a possible placement; placements must be made through the Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification
- Any problems/concerns associated with the observation should first be discussed with the mentor teacher and college instructor and if not resolved, then with the Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification
- Expectations of Pre-Student Teachers:
Confidentiality
You will be exposed to a variety of confidential information within the classroom and school. Student records, as well as school, classroom, and teacher issues should not be discussed with others due to the possible confidential nature.
