A critical and discriminative approach to the arts, which includes the writing of critical essays or reviews. This mode is to be completed in a department different from the one that satisfies the AE requirement.

Limitations:

• Minimum of 3 credits
• When taking courses to satisfy AE and AC, there must be two different departments represented. In other words, you can't take two courses from the art department, one with an AE designation and one with an AE designation, and have them fulfill the Aesthetic Understanding component of your requirements.

Choose an AE course from one department (like Dance & Drama) and AC from another (like Art).
