Graduate
The Department of Inclusive & Special Education offers three graduate programs which prepare teachers to work with students in special education. Our special education programs are designed for teachers holding provisional, initial, permanent, or professional certificates in teaching general education classes at the early childhood, elementary, or secondary levels.

Our M.S.Ed. in Inclusive & Special Education is recognized by the Council for Exceptional Children and accredited by NCATE. They are registered with the New York State Education Department and therefore students enrolled can obtain initial certification at one of the following three levels:

  • Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-Grade 2)

  • Childhood Special Education (Grades 1-6)

  • Adolescent Special Education (Grades 7-12)

The M.S.Ed. Inclusive & Special Education programs provide the academic preparation required for Initial/Professional certification in special education. Candidates begin programs in Special Education in the Fall semester only.
