Cost of Attendance & Funding

Students enrolled in CUSP are charged regular tuition rates and fees, room and board (if residential), and don't forget about books. Have you complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)? The campus requires that your FAFSA aid application be on file in order to qualify for any campus aid or scholarships. Our Federal Title IV School Code: 002850.

There are a number of options to pay for college including government aid, state aid, institutional scholarships, and private scholarships and many different types of aid. There may also be additional financing options available to you. Eligibility for certain types of aid will depend on your selected method of completing New York State graduation requirements (graduating from their high school of record vs. taking the TASC).

CUSP students may be eligible for New York State TAP awards prior to completion of high school graduation requirements pending successful completion of "Ability to Benefit" test, also known as "Accuplacer". Additional information about paying for college is provided by the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation.

  • If a student will not have their high school diploma when they start at Potsdam and want to pursue a possible TAP award, they will need to take the Accuplacer and have the scores sent to the TAP certifying officer at the Registrar’s office. SUNY Canton administers the Accuplacer. Contact Sharon Tavernier at taverniers@canton.edu, Miller Campus Center 224, phone (315) 379-3954 to schedule to take the exam.

CUSP candidates seeking federal financial aid (in the form of grants or loans) will need to provide a letter signed by the high school principal stating that coursework will not be counted toward the high school diploma.
