La Boulangerie: A Look Into the Importance of Bread to French Culture
Cultural communication patterns can be found in any form all around the world. My research project aims to observe the importance of bread to French culture by viewing it from a communication perspective. Preliminary work for the study includes researching different types of traditional French breads and how they are made, mastering the skills necessary to re-create each type of bread, and interviewing a range of experts on the subject from the local and surrounding areas of the North Country and Montreal. While studying abroad in Paris, France I will seek to better understand its daily presence using imagery, its extreme importance to the French, and the traditional bread-making process.
