Ubiquitous Computing

My Presidential Scholars Project is on ubiquitous and pervasive computing. It is called Project ‘Sansar’ which means Universal in Nepalese. I have done research and independent work on Active Networks. This project is a follow-up on my previous research work. My goal is to build a badge through which we can talk to other people and computers and control household appliances.

We should be able to ask where somebody is and the computer will locate them and give verbal responses to questions. Basically, this badge will function just like in the show Star Trek. It will consist of a microphone and speakers along with a call button and an optical barcode reader, which can scan bar-coded patient bracelets or other items.
