Application Process

SUNY Potsdam operates on a rolling admission policy, which means applications are reviewed as soon as all the required information is received. Students are then informed of our decision immediately after the application is reviewed. 

To apply:

  • Fill out the SUNY Application. If you have trouble submitting the online application, please contact the Application Services Center at 1-800-342-3811 or the Office of Admissions at 1-877-POTSDAM.
  • Submit an official high school transcript. It must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions from the high school. Sealed copies of high school transcripts delivered by the student are also acceptable as long as the guidance counselor or principal's signature appears over the envelope seal.

Supplemental Information

SUNY Potsdam is a test optional school for most applicants.  Additionally, a Part II or Supplemental Application is not required for all applicants. You will be notified by the Office of Admissions if you are required to submit a Supplemental Application or other materials for consideration after we review your official high school transcript.  An applicant's distinct circumstance may require submission of some or all of the following documents:

  • letters of recommendation
  • essay
  • resume
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • interview
