Application Process
We evaluate applications on a rolling basis.
You can apply to SUNY Potsdam using the SUNY Application or the Common Application.

There is a $50 fee with either application. The fee will be waived if you submit the SUNY Application and you are transferring directly to SUNY Potsdam having earned an Associate Degree at a 2-year SUNY or CUNY College. This fee waiver is not available with the Common Application. Please request your official college transcript(s) to be sent directly from each college you have attended to:

If you have completed fewer than 30 semester hours of college-level course work or have earned between a 2.0-2.25 GPA, you may also be required to submit:
- A high school transcript (or GED if applicable)
- SUNY Potsdam Supplemental Transfer Application
We encourage transfer students to submit applications before March 1st for the fall semester and before December 1st for the spring semester. These timelines ensure full consideration for:
- Access to limited enrollment programs
- Full consideration for financial aid and scholarships
- Early class registration and housing preferences.
