Financial Aid

In order to apply for institutional and federal forms of financial aid, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA (SUNY Potsdam's code is 002850). New York State residents should also file the Tuition Assistance Program Application for state aid eligibility (SUNY Potsdam's TAP code is 0945).

Scholarships

Potsdam offers several scholarships intended specifically for transfer students... 

  • Adirondack Pacesetter Scholarships : $1,000 residence hall waiver awarded to students with a 3.25 and higher grade point average. Renewable for two years with a 3.25 GPA. 
  • Adirondack Capstone Scholarships : Six $2,000 awards for transfer students with a GPA of 3.5 and higher, plus thirteen $1,000 awards for students with a GPA of 3.25-3.49. Renewable for two years with a maintained GPA of 3.25. (Adirondack Capstone Scholarships are for fall applicants only.) 
  • Several endowed scholarships are also available. 

You do not need to apply for either the Adirondack Pacesetter or Capstone Scholarships. Eligible transfer students are automatically identified during the application and admission process based on cumulative grade point average. Be sure to apply for admission early for full scholarship consideration!
