SUNY Potsdam Alumni & Friends Come Through: College Exceeds Annual Fundraising Goal in Tough Times
Through the generosity of alumni and friends, SUNY Potsdam exceeded its 2009-10 fundraising goal, raising more than $2.6 million to support student scholarships and educational infrastructure at the College. "I am extremely proud to announce that we have not only met but exceeded our goal for charitable giving to the College this year. After receiving a healthy amount of feedback - some of it rather grumbling -about the difficulty of the reading selections for his spring semester course, Dr. John McGinness, an associate professor of music theory at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, was surprised to learn that he had been selected as the 2010 Distinguished Honors Professor of the Year. After Drive, SUNY Potsdam Senior Donates Marrow to Sick Girl
A SUNY Potsdam student is about to give one little girl a gift that could save her life. Rosie Shrout, a senior psychology major from Rochester, N.Y., will undergo a procedure on Tuesday to extract bone marrow to donate to an 11-year-old girl who has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. (Read more)
SUNY Potsdam Receives Gift from Corning to Promote Literacy
SUNY Potsdam's Rebecca V. Sheard Literacy Center recently received a grant to support its work mentoring North Country children. Joseph Neubert, plant manager for Corning Inc. in Canton, presented the donation from the Corning Incorporated Foundation to the literacy center. (Read more) |
