SUNY, Crane School of Music Recognize Jazz Legend Wynton Marsalis with Honorary Doctor of Music Degree
The State University of New York, through SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, is proud to announce that SUNY officials will award jazz legend Wynton Marsalis with an Honorary Doctor of Music degree in an upcoming New York City ceremony. SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher, who oversees all 64 campuses in the nation's largest comprehensive system of public higher education, will confer the honorary doctorate alongside SUNY Board of Trustees Chairman Carl T. Hayden on Dec. 10.

Bears handle Fighting Saints, 74-59
The SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team defeated the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) 74-59 in the first round of the North Country Invitational at Clarkson University. Forward Anthony Williams (Long Island, N.Y./Upper Room Christian Academy) recorded a double-double for the Bears with a game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Joshua Lambert (Brooklyn, N.Y./East New York Transit Tech) also contributed 12 points for Potsdam. (Read more)

The three Crane Saxophone Ensembles presented a group fall concert at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 in Sara M. Snell Music Theatre on the SUNY Potsdam campus.
