SUNY Potsdam's education programs earn prestigious NCATE accreditation
SUNY Potsdam’s School of Education and Professional Studies has earned reaccreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE is a national accrediting body for schools, colleges and departments of education, authorized by the U.S. Department of Education. NCATE accredits institutions whose education programs meet rigorous national standards in preparing teachers and other school specialists for the classroom. (Read more)
SUNY Potsdam Art Department awarded $88,000 grant
SUNY Potsdam’s Department of Art will purchase new equipment thanks to the recent grant of more than $88,000 from an anonymous foundation. Marc Leuthold, associate professor and head of the ceramics program at SUNY Potsdam, applied for the grant. Leuthold is the project coordinator of this equipment enhancement initiative. (Read more)

SUNY Potsdam Department of Chemistry receives grant from National Science Foundation
Dr. David Gingrich of the SUNY Potsdam Department of Chemistry recently received a grant in the amount of $149,992 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a project titled “The Development of Biochemistry Laboratories Centered on Hemoglobin.” Dr. Jan Trybula of the Department of Biology is co-principal investigator. Russells endow SUNY Potsdam Distance Education Faculty Excellence Award
To encourage excellence in SUNY Potsdam’s distance education program, Thomas L. and Jane D. Russell of Raleigh, NC, have endowed an award to recognize faculty who are conducting their courses in an exemplary manner, provide faculty with a financial incentive to improve their distance education courses and reward those faculty who make their courses available to as many students as possible by removing all unnecessary barriers.
