Are you or someone you know interested in pursuing a Computer Science degree?  SUNY Potsdam's Computer Science Leadership and Practice Scholarship Program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.  This four year project provides scholarships for needy students who transfer from SUNY Community Colleges into the Computer Science program.  Learn more.

College Headlines

SUNY Potsdam Recycles Soles
SUNY Potsdam and the Potsdam community rose to the occasion when they were asked to donate their gently worn shoes for Soles4Souls, a charity that collects shoes and donates them all over the world to people in need. Molly Brennan, assistant coach for the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team, organized the fundraising event and collected approximately 200 pairs of shoes.  (Read more)

SUNY Potsdam Support Services awards $31,372 in Student Aid
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program designed to enhance academic skills and increase retention and graduation rates of eligible students. It was introduced at SUNY Potsdam in 1984. SSS grant aid funding is a result of the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2001 and special funds provided by the U.S. Congress for the Fiscal-Year 2009 appropriation for the Federal TRIO Programs.  (Read more)

SUNY Potsdam All Greek Council Participates in Make-A-Difference Week
Last fall, the All Greek Council (AGC) of SUNY Potsdam executed a successful week-long school supply drive for the Lawrence Avenue Elementary School of Potsdam as part of Make-A-Difference Week.   (Read more)

Encore of Der Rosenkavalier "The Met: Live in HD" at the Roxy
Once again audiences can experience Stauss's comic masterpiece of love and intrigue in 18th century Vienna, Sunday Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. at Potsdam's Roxy Theater. SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music alumna, Renee Fleming, stars as the aristocratic Marschallin.  (Read more)

Crane School of Music Celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Chopin
SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music faculty and students will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin on Wednesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.  (Read more)

Potsdam Sends Two Teams to SUNYAC Quarterfinals
Two Potsdam athletic teams will be competing in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday evening. Both games are on the road and will start at 7 p.m..  (Read more)

SUNY Potsdam and Local Kids Help Bring Heritage to Light
SUNY Potsdam and the Raquette River Corridor Blueway (RRCB) are helping to get local children involved in their community's history. Katherine Brown's 6th grade English class at Colton-Pierrepont Central School will be participating in a project in which they gather oral histories from local community members.  (Read more)

SUNY Program Hopes to Counteract Doctor Shortage
SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine continue to recruit for the Medical School Early Assurance Program with the goal of engaging high school students to both attend medical school and continue their medical practice in a rural area. (Read more)

SUNY Potsdam's Gibson Gallery Exhibit Explores Pop Master
SUNY Potsdam's Gibson Gallery will be featuring the work of Andy Warhol as part of the gallery's annual ArtPartnership exhibition from March 4 to April 10, 2010. ArtPartnership is the Gibson's annual exhibition geared toward school age students in the North Country making important artists and collections accessible to area children and the North Country community.  (Read more)
