Greetings From Your Alma Mater!

President Schwaller To Leave; Says College Is Well Positioned For The Future
SUNY Potsdam President Dr. John F. Schwaller announced on Nov. 27 that he would be stepping down from his position in July 2013. His tenure has seen increased undergraduate enrollment, expanded experiential learning opportunities for students and the strengthening of the "handcrafted education." Read more about his decision to move on, his achievements and some of the exciting opportunities in the College's future.

Nominations Are Being Accepted For The St. Lawrence Academy Medal Or The Helen M. Hosmer Excellence In Teaching Awards
The deadline for the School of Education St. Lawrence Academy Medal and The Crane School of Music Helen M. Hosmer Excellence in Teaching Award is February 1st. Nominations forms are located at the following respective websites:

Alumni Association Scholarship
Incoming or current students can apply for an Alumni Association Scholarship.  Students must be the child or grandchild of a Potsdam Alum.  The deadline for the Alumni Scholarship is March 1st.  For scholarship eligibility, go online.

Reunion Weekend 2013 - July 11-14 - Save The Date!
Last call for anyone wishing to help with the 2013 Class Reunion Committees! The Committees will be having conference calls over the next few weeks, and committee members will be reaching out to classmates in the beginning of 2013 for the Milestone years including 1963 (50th), 1988 (25th) and 2003 (10th). We will also be reaching out to classes from the years 1968, 1973 and 1993. If you are interested in serving on your Reunion Committee, please contact Ellen Nesbitt, Assistant Director of the Fund for Potsdam, nesbitem@potsdam.edu or (315) 267-3403. And remember, anyone and everyone is invited to come back for reunion. You don't need to be celebrating a specific year!

All SUNY Potsdam Athletic Home Games Can Now Be Watched Live Via Webcast!
Beginning this season, you can watch all home volleyball, soccer, basketball, hockey, swimming, lacrosse and softball games live via an online webcast.  To watch games and to view individual team schedules, go online.

Crane Candlelight Concerts Broadcast on Public TV, Starting December 4, 2012
Audiences across the U.S. and Canada will be able to enjoy traditional holiday concerts from The Crane School of Music stage, in the comfort of their homes again this year. WPBS Digital Television has again syndicated four Crane Candlelight Concerts to present throughout the holiday season. (Read More)

SUNY Potsdam Provost Appointed by Regents to NYS Teaching Standards & Practices Board
SUNY Potsdam Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Margaret E. Madden has been appointed by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to the state Professional Standards and Practices Board for Teaching. (Read More)

Bears Basketball Expands Community Outreach
The SUNY Potsdam men's and women's basketball teams will expand their involvement in community outreach programs during the 2012-13 school year. This season the Bears will team with various organizations, including Sport for Cancer, the Holiday Fund, the Potsdam Neighborhood Center, and the Rotary Club to support local people in need.
