Helen Hosmer: The Spirit of Crane Now Available
Written by Dr. Nelly Maude Case (author of Brock McElheran's bio, Worry Early), Helen's life story, complete with reminiscences from more than 100 former students, appears in print just in time for Crane's 125th anniversary, with all proceeds of the sale benefiting the Crane School of Music. Alumni Gift of $1.6 Million Ensures Legacy of World-Class Performances at Crane
The Potsdam College Foundation is the beneficiary of more than $1.6 million from the estate of N. Brock and Jane McElheran, which will ensure funding in perpetuity for the College and arts programs that were so special to them. (Read More)
Men’s Basketball Team Wins Overtime Thriller During Bear Pride Night
With alumni in the stands cheering them on, the SUNY Potsdam men’s basketball team pulled out a 62-60 overtime victory over SUNY Cortland in a SUNYAC contest at Maxcy Hall’s Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Alumni received free tickets to the game.

Business Professor Honored with International Award
Dr. Edwin J. Portugal, professor of strategic and global management at SUNY Potsdam, was presented with a Distinguished Paper Award at the 6th Annual International Conference of e-CASE that was held in Tokyo, Japan in January 2011.

Pianist Hannah Gruber Presented two World Premieres at Recital
The Crane School of Music presented solo pianist Hannah Gruber in a faculty recital on Feb. 20 that featured two world premieres; one composed by Crane faculty member Dr. Tim Sullivan and the other by Crane alumnus Brian Vlasak.
