A Message from the Alumni Relations Office

Greetings From Your Alma Mater!

Reunion Weekend 2014, July 10-13, 2014
We hope you are making plans to attend Reunion 2014!  Registration materials will be included in the spring issue of the Alumni Magazine, Potsdam People.  A tentative Schedule of Events can be viewed online, along with a list of all of our 2014 Alumni Association Award recipients.

Potsdam Academy Day!
Relive the student experience at Potsdam Academy during a full day of exciting, hands-on arts and sciences classes taught by SUNY Potsdam professors. The Potsdam Academy is a new addition to Reunion Weekend (but is also open to non-Reunion attendees!) and will kick-off the festivities on Thursday, July 10. For more information about Potsdam Academy Day, go online.

Start Up NY
Start-Up NY is a groundbreaking new initiative from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo that will provide major incentives for businesses to relocate, start up or significantly expand in New York State, through affiliations with public and private universities, colleges and community colleges. Businesses will have the opportunity to operate state and local tax-free on or near academic campuses, and their employees will pay no state or local income taxes either. In addition, businesses may qualify for further incentives. SUNY Potsdam is well positioned to fully engage our faculty, staff, students, alumni and businesses with this exciting initiative to foster growth throughout the North Country. Learn More

The Buzz
The Annual Fund for Potsdam will start The Buzz (aka phonathon) on Sunday, March 2. The Appeal will continue until April 30. If you get a call from one of our wonderful student callers, please chat with them to find out what is happening on campus, as well as to support your alma mater. Your gift of any size is important to the College, and more importantly, the students. Thank you for your support!

Mr./Ms. UNIVERSity - 2nd Annual Contest
The Emerging Leaders will be sponsoring the Mr./Ms. UNIVERSity Contest on Saturday, March 8 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Barrington Student Union Multi-purpose Room. If you are in the Potsdam area, stop by and catch this great showing of talent and SUNY Potsdam pride. One student will be named Mr. or Ms. UNIVERSity!
