If so, the deadline for nominations for the Alumni Association Awards is December 1st. If you know of someone deserving of one of the four Alumni Association Awards, nominate them now online, where you can also view past award recipients.
Note: The deadline for the School of Education St. Lawrence Academy Medal and the Crane School of Music Helen M. Hosmer Excellence in Teaching Award is still February 1st. Nomination forms are located at the following respective websites:

SUNY Potsdam Golf Classic Nets $93,000 for Scholarship Fund
Sponsors and players at the 23rd Annual SUNY Potsdam Scholarship Golf Classic on Sept. 8 broke last year’s record for proceeds to the scholarship fund. (Read More)
SUNY Potsdam Reception Celebrates Greek Academic Achievement
SUNY Potsdam’s All Greek Council celebrated the academic success of recognized fraternity and sorority members recently by hosting a reception in honor of the students who made the President’s or Dean’s List in the Spring 2011 semester. (Read More)
Violinist Performed World Premiere at Alumni Recital
Violinist Linda Nagy Johnston performed at an alumni recital at Crane to celebrate the School’s 125th anniversary. Johnston is currently principal second violinist of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and also performs with the Canton Symphony Orchestra, where she has been a member of the Canton Symphony String Quartet. Sharlow Joins Men's Basketball Staff
SUNY Potsdam Men’s Basketball Coach Sherry Dobbs has announced the appointment of Josh Sharlow as an assistant coach for the 2011-12 season. Sharlow had an exceptional career as a player with the St. Lawrence Saints, being named Liberty League Rookie of the Year as a freshman and Player of the Year as a senior, as well as multiple all-conference selections. He guided St. Lawrence to three NCAA Tournament appearances. (Read More)
SUNY Potsdam Invited Community to First-Ever Chemtoberfest
The College’s first annual Chemtoberfest was offered all day on Friday, Oct. 21, with a ceremony at noon. Part fall festival, part science fair, the event had a variety of activities to usher in autumn and spread a passion for chemistry to young and old. Chemtoberfest 2011 featured science demonstrations, crafts, giveaways, a chemistry magic show, and food provided by PACES. (Read More)
SUNY Potsdam Students Report on 20-Day Hiking Expedition
As part of the Leadership Two course through the College’s Wilderness Education Program, six students and two guides completed a 20-day expedition through the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana this summer. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Area in Montana is one of the largest and most remote wilderness areas in the United States. “The Bob,” as it is known, is home to wolves and elk, as well as the iconic grizzly bear.
