The deadline for nominations for the Alumni Association Awards is December 1st. If you know someone deserving of one of the four Alumni Association Awards, nominate them now online. You can also view past award recipients.
Note: The deadline for the School of Education St. Lawrence Academy Medal and the Crane School of Music Helen M. Hosmer Excellence in Teaching Award is still February 1st. Nomination forms are located at the following respective websites:

Dr. Caron Collins, Crane School of Music faculty, would like to thank all of the Music Education Alumni who assisted in her research for the book: Messengers of Music: the Legacy of Julia E. Crane. The book is now available for purchase by the IAP Publishing Company online, or by calling (704) 752-9125. Many of the alumni who assisted Dr. Collins in her research will be joining her during her presentation and book signing on campus on October 22, 2011 as part of the Music Education Symposium. SUNY Potsdam Prof Edits Book with German Potsdam Colleague
Two Potsdam professors have come together to publish a book, but instead of across campus, their collaboration is across the ocean. One faculty member is from SUNY Potsdam, and the other is from the University of Potsdam in Germany, located in the Prussian city that the New York community—and the college—are named for. World Renowned Guitarist Johannes Möller to Perform at Crane
Möller has captivated audiences throughout the world with his charismatic and soulful performances, recently winning first prize in the 2010 Guitar Foundation of America Concert Artist Competition (considered by many to be the most prestigious guitar competition in the world) which resulted in a 50-concert tour of which the Crane performance is one venue. Annual Music Business Roundtable Includes Crane Education Alums
Four accomplished Crane School of Music education alumni who have gone on to great success in the field of music business returned to their alma mater for a special interactive forum. All four panelists were Crane graduates with degrees in music education who have been involved in the music business throughout their careers. The panelists include John O’Rielly ’62, Wally Siebel ’69, Jay Blumenthal ’70 and Ed Marschilok ’74. (Read More)
Bears down D'Youville 3-1, advance to meet Elmira in Cup Championship
The SUNY Potsdam men’s soccer team defeated D’Youville 3-1 in the first game of the first SUNY Potsdam Men’s Soccer College Cup. Freshman midfielder Alessio Vitale assisted on all three goals for the Bears.
