Bear Runs & Bear Pride Challenge All Part of Alumni Weekend

As part of the college’s Reunion Weekend, SUNY Potsdam Athletics will be hosting the “Big Bear Run” on Saturday, July 11th for returning alumni and the local community. Participants will have the choice of a 5K run or walk as well as the “Little Bear Run,” a 1 mile fun run for children.

The 5K run/walk route will start and finish at SUNY Potsdam’s outdoor track adjacent to the Maxcy Hall athletic complex. The 1 mile kids run will be completed entirely on the outdoor track.

Cost for the 5K race is free for SUNY Potsdam alumni and current SUNY Potsdam students. All other participants are asked for a $10.00 minimum donation. The 1 mile children’s run is free. All runners will receive a T-shirt to be given out at race check-in.

Following the race, the “Bear Pride Challenge” will be conducted at the Outdoor Turf Field and Softball complex. Events include: Home Run Derby; Soccer Penalty Kicks; Lacrosse Agility Challenge; and an Obstacle Course.

Entry forms can be picked up at Great Northern Printing or the SUNY Potsdam Fitness Center in Maxcy Hall.
