Equestrian Opens Spring season at Cazenovia, SLU

CAZENOVIA/CANTON, N.Y. -- The SUNY Potsdam equestrian team opened up the 2013 half of its schedule at Cazenovia last Saturday and St. Lawrence on Sunday.

At Cazenovia, Potsdam received second place finishes from seniors Alexa Basile in the open flat competition and Michelle Robinson in the open over the fence. Sophomore Carlene Benson finished third place in the advanced walk, trot, canter. The Bears also had a strong showing from junior Casey Cunniff who placed third in the beginner walk, trot, canter.

At St. Lawrence, Basile again placed second in the open flat competition. Also capturing second place for the Bears was sophomore Emily Parker in the beginner walk, trot, canter competition. Senior Rachel Peer finished third in novice over the fence and sophomore Ellen Norton posted a third place finish in the novice flat competition.
