Men's basketball team helps Lawrence Ave students with biography projects

POTSDAM, N.Y.—On Tuesday, April 8, the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team traveled to Lawrence Avenue Elementary to work with students on their Bear Biography projects.

The students in Mrs. Joanna Cross' second grade class were grouped with Bears players. The second graders interviewed their Bear and wrote biographies about them.

"We had a fun time with the kids," said Bears sophomore guard Joe Estramonte (Greenwich, N.Y./Greenwich). "They asked us a bunch of questions and we had a chance to interact with them and help with their project.  It was a really good experience for us and I think a good change for the students as well."

The Bears open their 67th season in November at the North Country Invitational at Clarkson University.
