Sloma named SUNYAC Goalie of the Week
POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam senior lacrosse player Stefan Sloma has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Goalie of the Week for the week ending April 14.
Stefan Sloma made 10 saves in the Bears' 11-10 double-overtime win against Oswego last Wednesday. He then made a career-high 24 saves to keep Potsdam in the game in a 5-4 loss at Oneonta on Saturday. The 24 saves were the most by a Bears goalie since All-American Ryan Hanretty made 26 against Cortland on May 4, 2005.
This season Sloma is 5-4 in nine starts with a save percentage of .627 and a goals-against-average of 7.27. His save percentage is second in the conference and his G.A.A. is third best in the SUNYAC.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they head for Canton to take on St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m.
