Duffy earns fifth Goalie of the Week Award

POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam senior lacrosse player Ryan Duffy (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Goalie of the Week for his play during the week ending April 27. Duffy has earned the honor five times during the nine-week regular season.

Last Wednesday, the senior stopped 16 shots in the Bears come-from-behind 10-6 win at Oswego State. The victory clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Playoffs. Duffy was sharp again on Saturday, finishing with 11 saves as Potsdam came up just short at SUNY Geneseo.

This season Duffy has posted a .662 save percentage, tops in the SUNYAC and top-five in the nation. He is second in the conference in goals-against-average at 7.45 and has posted a 10-5 record. Duffy's 10 victories are a single-season school record and his save percentage is second best in program history.

The Bears host Plattsburgh State in the SUNYAC Semifinals at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest is a rematch of the April 9 meeting, which Potsdam won 8-7.
