Blujus named SUNYAC Player of the Week

POTSDAM, N.Y.—The State University of New York Athletic Conference has named SUNY Potsdam senior Jenna Blujus its volleyball Player of the week for the week ending Sept. 29.

The two-time all-conference setter/right side had another monster weekend for the Bears, leading Potsdam to a 3-0 SUNYAC Pool Play weekend and a spot atop the conference standings. Blujus had 11 kills, 20 assists and 18 digs in Potsdam's five-set victory over Cortland on Saturday. It was the Bears first win over the Red Dragons since 2008 and just the third victory in the series since 1984. Blujus finished out the weekend with 27 kills, 58 assists and 47 digs.

This season, the senior leads the team in assists (308), digs (250) and services aces (49) and is second in kills (146) and blocks (17). Blujus is already SUNY Potsdam's all-time assists and service ace leader.

Potsdam is back in action tomorrow night with a road rematch against SUNY Canton.
