Bears to honor Pierce before tomorrow's exhibition
POTSDAM, N.Y.—Come join the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team tomorrow night as they celebrate senior captain Curtis Pierce's 1,000 points. The Bears host Algonquin College for a 7:30 p.m. exhibition contest. Potsdam's captain will be honored prior to the tip-off.
Pierce, who scored his 1,000th point at Geneseo on Feb. 17, 2012, has been the model of consistency since putting on a Potsdam jersey. The senior has averaged 13.9 points-per-game in each of his three seasons, totaling 1,015 points in 73 contests. He has amassed 551 rebounds, 123 assists and 113 steals. Pierced has also recorded 14 double-doubles in his career.
The Bears open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 16, against Ithaca College at 8 p.m. in the first round of the North Country Invitational at Clarkson University.
