Bears cross country wraps up season at NCAA Regional


ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam cross country teams closed out the season at the NCAA Atlantic Regional today at Genesee Valley Park. The Bears women finished 36th, while the men placed 44th.

Senior Hollie Heimer had the strongest Potsdam performance of the day, running an 6k time of 24:03.7. Freshman Olivia Rehm (26:48), sophomore Hannah Groshner (26:59.2) and freshman Sarah Howe (29:31.8) were the next three Bears to cross the finish line. Sophomore Rebecca Dukett, junior Sarah Behuniak and sophomore Stephanie Hall rounded out Potsdam's seven with times of 32:36.2, 32:37.6 and 35:00.7, respectively.

Sophomore Joseph Rafter (30:35.2), junior Delijah Demand (31:03.3) and junior John Stone (32:10.2) led the Bears men. Freshman Zach Fanion and sophomore Jonathan Doane were next with 8k times of 33:28.2 and 33:54.2. Sophomore Brett Wunsch ran a time of 35:41.3 and sophomore Adam Lang finished the day for Potsdam in 35:51.6.
