Cross Country runs at SUNYIT Invitational

UTICA, N.Y.— The SUNY Potsdam men and women's cross country teams competed at the SUNYIT Invitational this afternoon. The women's team ran to a fifth place finish led by senior Hollie Heimer. The men finished 13th.
Sophomore John Stone led the Bears 6K effort with a time of 23:13. Brett Wunsch followed with a time of 25:56. Sophomores John Doane and Adam Lang crossed the line at 26:21 and 26:48 to finish out the top four for the Bears.
In the women's 5K race, Heimer was the top Potsdam runner with a second place finish with a time of 20:01. Freshman Hannah Groshner crossed the line at the 22:17 mark to place 16th. Olivia Rehm ran a 23:42 time and Carla Furguglietto posted a 24:19 mark to round out the top four.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at the Paul Smith's Quad Meet.
