Cross country races at North Country "Five" Invitational


CANTON, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam cross country teams competed at the 5K North Country “Five” Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University on Wednesday afternoon. The Bears ran against the Saints, Clarkson, SUNY Canton, and Paul Smith's College.

Freshman Oliva Rehm led the Potsdam women, finishing eighth with time of 22:37.4. Freshman Hannah Groshner was 10th, completing the course in 22:59.9. Freshman Sarah Howe and sophomore Rebecca Duckett were next in 23:59 and 26.05.5. Sophomore Stephanie Hall and junior Kinga Kanczura rounded out the team with times 28:08.9 and 33:02.1.

Junior John Stone paced the men with a 25th place finish in 18:48. Sophomore Joseph Rafter, junior Dalijah Demand and sophomore Adam Lang were the next three Potsdam finishers in 19:18.2, 19:23 and 20:32. Sophomores Jonathan Doane and Brett Wunsch recorded 20:38.7 and 21:15.7 finishes. Freshman Zach Fanion and junior Dan Lewis crossed the finish line at 21:21.3 and 25:51.2.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 15 when they return to Canton for the St. Lawrence Hoffman Invitational.
