Golf finishes 7th at SLU Invitational
CANTON, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam golf team placed seventh in the 10-team St. Lawrence Invitational over the weekend. The University of Rochester captured the title with a score of 587. The Yellow Jackets were followed by Clarkson University (599) and the host Saints (617). The Bears shot a 638 in the two-round competition.
Sophomore John Hickey led Potsdam again, tying for 16th place with rounds of 74 and 82 for a score of 156 overall. His 74 on Saturday tied him for sixth best on the opening day of the tournament. Sophomore Conor Talty was next for Potsdam with scores of 80 and 79 for a 156. Sophomore Daniel Kurtz posted an 80 and an 81 for 161. Senior Harrison Davenport finished with a 162 (80-82) and sophomore Kevin Doherty rounded out the group with a 169 (86-83).
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Middlebury for Day 1 of the Duke Nelson Tournament.
