Now entering his seventh year of coaching cross country at Potsdam, Coach Cutler has brought unprecedented success that includes a first ever All-American (Jodie Schoppmann) as well as numerous other conference awards and recognition.
In 2007 Cutler will serve as the SUNYAC Cross Country Coach's Committee secretary as SUNY Potsdam hosts the SUNYAC championship race on the home course. In addition to coaching Cutler also works full-time as a graduate admissions counselor at SUNY Potsdam.
Cutler's athletic resume has extended over the past 18 years and now includes:
* High School Track & Field Hall of Fame, College MVP, All Conference, All Region and Nationals qualifer, NCAA varsity swimmer
* USA Triathon Elite Professional triathlete (99,00,01,02) -Numerous wins and course records in running, cycling, duathlon and triathlon
* Ironman triathlons (including the World Championships in Kona,HI)
Amy Young-Cutler is also in entering her seventh year as assistant cross country coach. With her vast knowledge and experience SUNY Potsdam runners benefit greatly in having her wisdom. Amy Young-Cutler was the first every NCAA Cross Country All-America from her college (William Smith). She has won many cross-country races throughout her college career and still holds course records. On the road Amy has run 4 miles in 23:15, 5 miles in 29:30, 15k in 57:33 and a 1/2 Marathon in 1:26.
Professionally she holds four teaching certifications in Elementary (grades k-6), Special Education (grades 1-6 and 7-12) and as a literacy specialist (birth-grade 6). Currently she teaches first grade and enjoys training with her husband (Peter) for triathalons.
