Women Finish Third at SUNYIT Invitational

UTICA, NY- The women’s cross-country team came in third place out of nine teams at the SUNYIT Invitational this past Saturday. It was the team’s first meet of the season.

There were two top ten finishes. Sarah Rasco (Cadyville/Saranac Central) came in fourth place overall in the 5K race with a time of 22:42.4 which was eight tenths behind the third place runner. Nadine Longmore (Lorraine/South Jefferson) came in eighth place with a time of 23:15.2.

The men’s team came in sixth place out of eight teams in the 6K race.  The best overall finish was 13th by Benjamin Strickland (Geneseo/Geneseo) who came in at a time of 23:05.6.

The teams will race again this Wednesday at the Clarkson Quad Meet.
