POTSDAM, NY- The men’s basketball team will host Buffalo State and Fredonia on Friday and Saturday in two big SUNYAC games. The Buffalo State game is at 8 pm on Friday and the Fredonia game is at 4 pm on Saturday.
The Bears are 3-14 overall (2-9 in SUNYAC). They lost to Oneonta last Saturday 79-66. Three Bears are averaging in double figures led by Curtis Pierce at 13.5 points a game. He also has a team leading 106 rebounds. Anthony Williams Jr. is averaging 13.1 points a game and leads in blocks with 14. Ben Walker is averaging 10.5 points a game and has a team high 30 steals.
Buffalo State is 7-10 overall (5-6 in SUNYAC). Four players are averaging in double figures led by Jake Simmons at 18.2 points per game. He also leads in steals with 43. T.O. Jackson (12.5 points/game) leads in rebounds with 128. Antonio Samedi (11.4 points/game) leads in blocks with 48. Norman Simmons is the assist leader with 55.
Buffalo State won the last meeting in January 80-67.
Fredonia is 7-10 overall (5-6 in SUNYAC). Brad Cooper leads in points averaging 16.3 points a game and in steals with 22. James Kane (10 points a game) has a team high 73 rebounds. Greg MacBride leads with 38 assists and Kyle Mitchell has a team high 16 blocks.
The Blue Devils won the last meeting between the teams 76-74.
