Mustangs Skate Past Bears

MORRISVILLE, NY- Host Morrisville scored two late third period goals to pull away for the victory over the men’s hockey team 5-3 on Friday night. The men’s record is now 2-3 overall.

The Bears got on the board first when Spencer Noyes (Oneida, NY/Foxboro Stars) scored his first goal of the season to put the Bears ahead. Morrisville would tie the game with nine seconds to play in the first period.

The Bears regained the lead on a Fraser Smith (Fonthill, ONT/Oakville Blades) goal. The Mustangs again answered back with a goal of their own to tie the game at 2-2 after two periods.

Morrisville would take the lead 1:37 into the third period. With 3:23 left on the clock, the Bears would tie it up on Connor Treacy’s (Markham, ONT/Markham Waxers) team leading fifth goal of the year. Just over a minute later, the Mustangs would go ahead for good and then add an empty net goal with 1:26 to play in the game.

Trevor O’Neill (Keswick, ONT/Stouffville Spirit) had 44 saves in goal for the Bears. Caylin Relkoff made 31 saves for the Mustangs.

The Bears resume play next Friday night (11/20) when they go on the road to take on Fredonia at 7 pm.
