Mulligan, McCullough & Blackburn Honored

(POTSDAM, NY) Three SUNY Potsdam players were recently named to the 2009 All-SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Team. Leading the Bears was senior James Mulligan who was named to the All-Conference First Team. Juniors Ben McCullough and David Blackburn were chosen for the All-Conference Second Team. Mulligan (Hudson, MA/Carthage) is a Potsdam defensemen now making his second appearance on the All-SUNYAC team. He grabbed 12 groundballs and caused 5 turnovers by Bears opponents during the past season. Midfielder Ben McCullough (Brampton, Ont./Turner-Fenton) returns to the All-SUNYAC Team for the second consecutive season. McCullough led the Bears offense as he tallied 30 points while finishing the year with 15 goals, 15 assists and 47 groundballs. David Blackburn (Heuvelton/Heuvelton), Potsdam’s face-off specialist, is also making a repeat appearance on the All-SUNYAC Team. Blackburn grabbed 56 groundballs while tallying a 143-92 faceoff record. The Potsdam men ended their current season with a 4-9 overall record while finishing conference play with a 1-6 tally.
