Joe Vaadi - Head Coach

vaadi_72dpi_2009 Joe Vaadi is now in his 13th year as the Head Coach of the Men's soccer program at SUNY Potsdam. A 1988 Potsdam graduate and former soccer player himself, Vaadi guided the program to its first playoff berth (2002) since the inception of the SUNYAC's modern day playoff system.

Vaadi's success has resulted in his being named the 2000 SUNYAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year. During his tenure with the Bears, Vaadi has coached numerous players that have earned All-SUNYAC honors. He has also had three players who have earned Adidas All-Regional honors.

Active in the community and college, Coach Vaadi has organized community service projects and directed soccer camps throughout the area. He is also a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

 

 

Damien Jepson - Assistant Coach

jepson_72dpi_09 Damien Jepson began his first season of coaching with the SUNY Potsdam Bears in the fall of 2009. He is a graduate of SUNYIT where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business. He previously earned an Associates Degree from Adirondack Community College in 2006.

In addition to four years of playing college soccer, Damien has coached 4th grade, modified, and U-19 teams. He was also a men's soccer Gold Medalist in the 2007 Empire State Games.

Coach Jepson will be counted upon to "hit the road" and be in charge of the Bears recruiting. Damien will also assist with the daily team practice, as well as, participating in game day coaching.
