Swimming Wins at Norwich

NORTHFIELD, VT-
The men's and women's swim teams were both victorious as they defeated Norwich University on Saturday afternoon. The
men won by a score of 150-138 while the women won 103-66.
There was one individual winner for the men. Dan Callahan (Brewster/Brewster) won the 100
Freestyle in a time of 50.15 and the 50 Butterfly in a time of 24.75. Scott Laine (Farmingdale, NY)
won the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:56.67. Ryan Wentz (Lockport/Starpoint)
claimed the 500 Frestyle with a winning time of 5:19.08. The 400 Freestyle Relay
team of Wentz, Talon Weekes (Governeur/Governeur), Alex Taylor (Port Ewen) and
Edward McIntyre (Laurel/Matitock) won with a time of 3:26.97.
Nathan Larowe (Latham/Shaker) won the one meter dive with a
score of 189.20 and the three meter dive with a score of 272.60.
For the women, Sarah Gutenmann (Malone/Franklin Academy) won
the 1000 Freestyle in a time of 12:14.57.
Adrienne Brown (Endwell/Endwell) won the 50 Backstroke in a time of
32.26. Rosie Shrout
(Irondequoit/Eastridge) won the 200 Butterfly in 2:38.49. Kelsey Rimmer (Potsdam/Potsdam) won the 50
Freestyle in two minutes flat. Brittany
Berus (Lowville) won the 1000 freestyle with a time 2:08.75. The 400 Medley Relay team of Berrus, Kelley
Walsh (Schenectady),
Liz Ringer (Queensbury) and Julie Haynes (Malone/Franklin Academy) won in
4:32.53.
The teams return home to host Brockport next Saturday at 1
pm.
Men's Swimming and Diving Wins at Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY- The men's swimming and diving team won its first meet
of the season 130-82 over Skidmore
College.
There were two multiple winners. Scott Laine (Farmingdale, NY)
won the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 11:16.07 and the 100 Backstroke in
1:02.10. Edward McIntyre (Laurel/Mattitock)
won the 50 Freestyle in a time of 23.63 and the 100 Freestyle in 51.48. Dan Callahan (Brewster/Brewster) won the 200
Freestyle in 1:54.96, Alex Taylor (Port Ewen) won the 200 IM in 2:09.91, and
Ryan Wentz (Lockport/Starpoint) took the 100 Butterfly in 56.48. The 200 Medley
Relay team of Aram Salehi (Rochester/Fairport), Taylor, Callahan and McIntyre won in a time
of 1:46.10.
Nathan Larowe (Latham/Shaker) won the 1 meter dive with a
score of 289.55.
The women lost by the score of 133-98. Julie Haynes (Malone/Franklin Academy) won
the 50 Freestyle in 26.34. The 200
Medley team of Brittany Berus (Lowville), Kelley Walsh (Schenectady), Liz Ringer (Queensbury), and
Haynes won with a time of 2:00.89. The
200 Freestyle Relay team of Kylie Barr (Ogdensburg/OFA, Danielle Fisher
(Rotterdam Jct), Adrienne Brown (Endwell/Endwell), and Ringer won with a time
of 1:50.25.
The teams' next meet is next Saturday at Norwich at 1 pm.
LaRowe Named All-American at NCAAs

(Minneapolis, MN) Nathan LaRowe, a junior diver at SUNY Potsdam, finished 4th in the 3-Meter Dive of the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships with a score of 499.35. LaRowe was named an All-American for his achievements in the national competition.
Diving in NCAAs for the third consecutive year, LaRowe (Latham/Shaker) also competed in the 2009 1-meter dive where he placed 13th in preliminary competition with a score of 422.95.
In February LaRowe captured both the 1-meter and the 3-meter springboard events at the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships. His 3-meter dive score of 552.70 then broke both the SUNYAC Conference and Championship meet records.
During the past season, LaRowe was named to the SUNYAC Men's All-Conference First Team and was twice chosen as the SUNYAC Diver of the Week.
Potsdam Swimmers Set School Record at SUNYACs

(BUFFALO,NY)- The women's 200 Freestyle Relay team set a new school record on the first day of the SUNYAC Championships held at Erie Community College.
The team of Erin Hennessy (East Aurora/East Aurora), Kate Edwards (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse), Kate Matthews (Malone/Franklin Academy), and Julie Haynes (Malone/Franklin Academy) swam in a time of 1:43.30 which was good for sixth place. It broke the previous school record of 1:43.60.
Nathan Larowe (Latham/Shaker) won the Men's 1 meter dive with a score of 504.80.
On the second day, the best finish was by the women's 200 Medley Relay team. The team of Adrienne Brown (Endwell/Endwell), Tori Ebert (Middletown/Middletown), Hennessy, and Edwards finished in a time of 1:58.42 which was good for seventh place.
