Swimming Victorious over St. Michael's

POTSDAM, NY- The men’s and women’s swim teams were both victorious as they defeated visiting St. Michaels’s in their final regular season home meet of the season. In the process, two Potsdam records and one SUNYAC record was broken. The men won by the score of 142-96. Ryan Wentz (Lockport/Starpoint) won the 1000 freestyle in 10:26.49, the 100 Butterfly in 55.72, and the 500 Freestyle in 5:06.15. Ed McIntyre (Laurel/Matittock) won the 200 Freestyle in 1:51.82 and the 100 Freestyle in a time of 50.29. Dan Callahan (Brewster/Brewster) was the winner in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.01 and was second in the 100 Free to McIntyre with a time of 50.33. Alex Taylor (Port Ewen) was the other winner as he claimed the 100 Breaststroke in 1:05.57 and the 400 IM in 4:36.55. The 400 Relay team of Jordan Goff (Lockport/Lockport), Chris Rogers (Farmingdale/Farmingdale), McIntyre, and Callahan won with a time of 3:31.67. Nathan LaRowe (Latham/Shaker) won the one meter dive with a score of 320.48 and three meter dive with a score of 403.87. He broke a Potsdam and SUNYAC record with his score in the three meter dive. The women by the score of 131-99. Liz Ringer (Queensbury/Queensbury) won two events as she claimed the 200 Freestyle in 2:07.30 and the 100 Butterfly in 1:02.19. Her time in the 100 Butterfly broke Jen Parent’s record of 1:02.44 set back in 2003. Julie Haynes (Malone/Franklin Academy) won the 50 Freestyle in 26.29 and the 100 Freestyle in 58.20. Hollie Heimer (Chesapeake, VA/Western Ranch) claimed the 1000 Freestyle in a time of 11:48.98. Brittany Berrus (Lowville/Lowville) was the winner in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:43.25. The 400 Medley relay team of Sarah Gutenmann (Malone/Franklin Academy), Lindsay Borakove (NYC/Clarkstown North), Ringer, and Berris won in a time of 4:23.91. The 400 Free Relay team of Adrienne Brown (Endwell/Endwell), Paige Montroy (Cape Vincent), Kylie Barr (Ogdensburg/OFA), and Haynes won in 4:05.27. The teams’ next competition is the SUNYAC Championships on February 10-13 at Eric Community College
