| Jay Green - Head CoachCoach Jay Green is now entering his third season as the head of the women's hockey program. at SUNY Potsdam. He was also at the helm during the ladies' 07-08 club year, as well as, their 08-09 inaugural year of varsity action. Coach Green has been involved with Potsdam Bears Hockey for over 10 years as an assistant men's coach and hockey school instructor. He was a four year letterman at Elmira College and a member of 2 NCAA Final Four teams including the NCAA Championship game in 1980. Upon his return ot the States, Green coached at the high school level for several years and has worked as an instructor at a number of camps including SUNY Potsdam, Elmira College and the Buffalo Sabres. |
Farren Hart - Assistant Coach Now entering her second year at SUNY Potsdam, Farren Hart (Perth, Ontario) joined the women's coaching staff for the 2008-09 season while she pursued her masters degree in Education-Communication Technology. Coach Hart is a 2008 graduate of Elmira College and a 4 year letter winner with the Soaring Eagles. Following a successful career at St. Georges Prep in Newport, Rhode Island, she joined the Soaring Eagles program and played a major role in the evolution of its reputation as a national Div. III power. During her career, the Soaring Eagles won 2 ECAC-West Championships and appeared twice in the NCAA Finals. Farren concluded her career as an assistant captain and 9th on the all time leading scorers list at Elmira. Coach Hart joins Coach Jay Green, who is also an Elmira graduate, as the Bears enter their first year in the ECAC-West Conference, one of the nation's strongest conferences in Div. III Women's Hockey. Farren brings significant experience to our program. Farren has been a member of several high level championship teams in her career and served in the role of captain or assistant captain on those teams. One gains valuable leadership skills both on and off the ice as a result. She will prove to be a tremendous asset in the process of building a nationally recognized program states Coach Green. She is a proven winner and her direction will be influential for the players of our program.
