Courtney Laughlin is back for her third season with the Bears, not including a season with the team before it returned to varsity status, and will serve as one the team’s co-captains again. Laughlin has played in all 48 of Potsdam’s varsity contests. The senior has five goals and nine assists for 14 points in her career.
2009-10: Played in all 25 games, scoring three goals, all on the power play, and tallying five assists for eight points.
2008-09: Played in all 23 games, scoring two goals, including one on the power play, and assisting on four for six points.
Personal: Laughlin is a professional writing and communication double major and hopes to be a journalist. The senior plans to work on her speed this season to improve her game. Her favorite athlete is Roger Federer and she’s a fan of the Washington Capitals. Laughlin lists sushi as her favorite food. If she wasn’t a hockey player, the senior would either play field hockey or tennis. Her favorite classes at Potsdam are Family Communication and Anthropology. Laughlin claims playing Division III hockey as her greatest sports accomplishment and her greatest memory with the Bears is making the playoffs last season.
