Emma Smetaniuk enters her first season with the Bears.
Personal: Smetaniuk is majoring in business administration and hopes to work in advertising in the future. To improve as a player this season, the freshman hopes to work on her speed. She lists her favorite athlete as Gordy Howe and she’s a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Smetaniuk’s favorite Web sites are Facebook and YouTube and top movies are Hangover and Anchorman. She enjoys listening to Eminem and Rascal Flatts and her favorite foods include ice cream and Chinese food. She says she’d like to play soccer if she wasn’t already playing hockey. Smetaniuk claims finishing second at Provincials in 2009 as her greatest sports accomplishment.
