Women's Hockey Falls to Nepean

POTSDAM, NY- The women’s hockey team hosted the Nepean Wildcats in an exhibition and was denied 6-1 on Wednesday night.

Following a scoreless first period, the Wildcats struck first on a goal by Alex Gaucher-Loksts. Less than two minutes later, the Bears tied it up on a Breanna Roy (Orleans, ONT/Nepean Wildcats) power play goal. The Wildcats then scored on their own power play to take the lead just midway into the period. They would add four more goals in the third period to pull away for the victory.

Hillary Hitchman (Potsdam/Oswego) had the start in goal and played 29:21 recording 15 saves and only giving up one goal. She was then replaced by Jen Conophy (Glenmont/Albany Icecats) who played the rest of the game and also had 15 saves. Catherine Cole had nine saves for Nepean and Mati Barrett had six saves.

The Bears begin regulation play next Saturday 10/31 when they host Salve Regina at 3 pm.
