Bears fall to No. 23 Clarkson
POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam Volleyball team (2-3) succumbed to 23rd ranked Clarkson University (3-2) 3-0 on Wednesday night. The teams battled in front of a large crowd in the inaugural match in Maxcy Hall's newly renovated field house.
Senior setter/right side Jenna Blujus recorded four kills, six assists, eight digs and two blocks to lead the Bears. Junior outside hitter Liza Fields totaled three kills and five digs, while junior libero/defensive specialist Gabby Arana chipped in 19 digs.
Potsdam Head Coach Josh Stokes was realistic about the loss to the nationally ranked Golden Knights.
"It's still early," said Stokes. "There's a lot of volleyball left to be played. We know where we need to make improvements."
The Bears are back in action on Friday at 4 p.m. as they kick off the Victory Promotions Invitational with a match against Norwich University.
