Bradley joins Bears women's basketball staff
POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam Women's basketball coach Tara Ruckh has announced the appointment of Shanay Bradley as her assistant coach for the 2013-14 season.
Bradley, a Bronx native, played two years of basketball at South Bronx High School before attending and playing for SUNY Delhi. After spending two seasons with the Broncos, she transferred to SUNY New Paltz for her final two seasons. While with the Hawks, she was the top rebounder in the SUNYAC. Last year, Bradley spent the fall semester as an assistant with her former team. During the spring of 2013, she studied abroad in Trinidad and Tobago and played for a team that competed against others throughout the Caribbean.
Bradley brings plenty of coaching experience as well. Last fall she coached the Triple Threat, an AAU basketball team. She has coached various other teams such as Children Aid's Society at Milbank in Manhattan and at clinics including the Bears Basketball Camp.
Bradley graduated from New Paltz in May with a bachelor's in sociology. She intends to pursue a master's in information and communication technology while coaching here at Potsdam.
