Bears cross country competes at North Country Invitational
POTSDAM, N.Y.—Junior Hannah Groshner and sophomore Olivia Rehm put together the strongest performances for the SUNY Potsdam cross country teams at the North Country Invitational cohosted by Clarkson and Potsdam. The duo finished fifth and sixth overall, respectively. While there were no team champions, the Golden Knights had the most success with the top three finishers in the women's competition and top 12 among the men.
Groshner and Rehm finished with 5K times of 21:19 and 22:29. Freshman Sarah LaPorta was next for the Potsdam women, finishing in 23:42. Sophomore Carissa Cuccia and junior Rebecca Dukett rounded out the Bears' top five with times of 26:02 and 27:38.
Sophomore Brandon Bobik led the men with a time of 18:46. He was followed by junior Joseph Rafter and freshman Ryan Sullivan, who ran to finishes of 19:27 and 19:39. Junior Adam Lang and graduate student Evan Price were next in 19:42 and 21:13.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday as they head to Oswego for the Don Masterson Invitational at 11 a.m.
